We are currently seeking a strong leader to head our Commercial team in the Southern regional team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of the region you will lead the small team which consists of surveying, buying and estimating functions.

Responsible for the management of contracts for all sub-contractors, you will work in line with build programmes to ensure that timescales are met and competitive quotes are sourced whilst upholding our high quality standards. Producing acquisition budgets and reporting on progress against these, you will ensure the relevant information is provided to the land team within good time.

Having proven experience in a similar role, you will have previously worked in new build, refurbishments or housing association with houses and apartments. An adept communicator, resilient with strong diplomacy skills, the ideal candidate will provide clear leadership for the commercial team and possess a passion for high quality home building.

Be it via the support we provide through our charitable arm, the Shanly Foundation, or via our employment and training initiatives, we remain committed to attracting youngsters to the various professions within the construction industry.

We facilitate work experience opportunities and engage with our local schools through attendance at careers fairs and we work with schools to deliver on-site visits.

We also provide careers support to local children by taking part in mock interviews and giving advice on how to write an effective CV.

We provide a number of schemes to support school leavers, graduates and young people looking to get ahead in the construction industry and since 2017 we have launched the Shanly Group Academy. 

Academy trainees are provided with:

  • A one year fixed term contract 
  • An option to interview for permanent position
  • Review at end of each 2 month departmental placement
