What you'll be doing

This is a dynamic and important role within the business which requires the ability to source, negotiate and subsequently complete on land opportunities ensuring that the companies vision for the future in achieving steady growth is sustained.

You will use your expertise to identify, negotiate and secure development land and already have a strong network of contacts to add sites to the regional portfolio. As we can make quick decisions, your ability to be flexible, adapt and respond confidently to changing situations is paramount.

Skill and experience

  • Strong experience in managing and sourcing own land leads and negotiations.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be keen to progress.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Flexible with the ability to embrace change when required.
  • Clear and precise written and spoken communication at all levels.
  • Comfortable making quick decisions and confidently respond to different situations.
  • Good IT skills.

The Shanly Group is passionate about investing in young people.

Be it via the support we provide through our charitable arm, the Shanly Foundation, or via our employment and training initiatives, we remain committed to attracting youngsters to the various professions within the construction industry.

We facilitate work-experience opportunities and engage with our local schools through attendance at careers fairs and we work with schools to deliver on-site visits.

We also provide careers support to local children by taking part in mock-interviews and giving advice on how to write an effective CV.

We provide a number of schemes to support school leavers, graduates and young people looking to get ahead in the construction industry and since 2017 we have launched the Shanly Group Academy. 

Academy trainees are provided with:

  • A one-year fixed term contract 
  • An option to interview for permanent position
  • Review at end of each 2-month departmental placement
  • Ongoing support and guidance by senior members of staff
  • Continued professional development and opportunity to attend training courses
  • A working schedule of 2-months in each of the following departments:
