Seven Things to Love About Send

To celebrate the launch of our new show home at Weyside Grove, we thought this was the perfect time to explore everything that makes the Surrey village of Send such a wonderful place to live. From abundant greenery to fast transport connections, Send has everything you and your family could ever need, plus loads more. Read on to see the top seven things we absolutely love about Send!

  1. 1.     Gorgeous Green Spaces

The tranquil village of Send enjoys a plethora of picture-perfect green spaces, ideal for any budding photographers. Located just North of the rolling Surrey Hills, residents in Send can easily reach some of Surrey's most popular beauty spots including Box Hill, Leith Hill and the Devil's Punch Bowl. Closer to home, Send is located adjacent to the meandering River Wey, providing opportunities for peaceful waterside walks.

  1. 2.     Convenient Connections

Although many fall in love with Send's picturesque greenery, a big selling point is that it is so well connected. Located almost equidistant between Guildford and Woking, some of Surrey's biggest towns are just a short drive away. Perfect for shoppers, Guildford hosts three covered shopping centres (The Friary, White Lion Walk and Tunsgate Quarter) in addition to the stores located on its charming cobbled High Street. Guildford can be reached in under 15-minutes by car.

Those looking to immerse themselves in arts and culture, will love visiting Woking which is less than a 10-minute drive away. New Victoria Theatre performs a great mix of the best stage shows and musicals, whilst The Lightbox features an impressive artwork collection. Alternatively, those hoping to be dazzled by the bright lights of the city can reach London Waterloo in 34 minutes from Worplesdon railway station.

  1. 3.     Super Schools

Families looking to reside near some great schools, will not be disappointed by those on offer in Send. Located within a two-mile radius of our development, a range of excellent schools are on offer, perfect for children of all ages. For younger children, Send CofE Primary School, Westfield Primary School and Barnsbury Primary School have all been rated 'Good' by Ofsted. Older children can attend St John the Baptist Catholic Comprehensive School or Hoe Valley School, both of which have been marked 'Outstanding'. Woking College offers traditional A-Level courses in addition to a variety of vocational courses, ideal for those seeking qualifications to pursue their dream career.

  1. 4.     Traditional Village Pubs

No picturesque Surrey village would be complete without a pub, and Send has two on offer locally! Just a short walk from our new homes, The New Inn is a beautiful pub that serves amazing pub meals as well as an impressive selection of drinks. Located on the banks of the Wey Navigation, this traditional pub is a must for a delicious family Sunday Roast. A second pub, The Saddlers Arms, is located in Send Marsh. Priding itself on its selection of traditional real ales, this pub also serves delicious food and hosts live music.

  1. 5.     Sports for Everyone

If your New Year's resolution is to exercise more, there are plenty of options to participate in sports here, whatever your age! Perfect for Cricket fans, Concorde Cricket Club is always keen to welcome new players to participate in Sunday matches. Keen anglers will delight in the village's proximity to several fishing lakes, as well as fishing spots along the River Wey. There are also ten golf courses located within a 15-minute radius of Weyside Grove, including Hoebridge Golf Complex. While competitive golfers will adore the stunning course and TrackMan driving course on offer here, children can enjoy an exciting game of pirate adventure golf. For those looking to simultaneously learn a new skill, Papercourt Sailing Club offers sailing lessons to both adults and children. There is also a youth football club, Send United, for children aged five and above!

  1. 6.     Local Attractions

Send is also located near to some of the UK's best attractions. RHS Wisley proports to be one of the world's great gardens, and with its beautiful planting and impressive landscaping, it is not hard to see why! Also nearby, Dunsborough Park is a spectacular 14th century estate. Its beautiful gardens can be visited, with the park hosting its annual Tulip Festival in April. Horseracing fans are within easy reach of Sandown Racecourse which holds several prestigious races throughout the year, in addition to concerts, auctions and trade shows.
