Plant Heritage plant exchange

Conservation news - partnering with Plant Heritage

We are delighted to have renewed our partnership with conservation charity Plant Heritage for another year. The charity aims to preserve the heritage and culture of our rich diversity of cultivated plants. This is done through a network of volunteers some of whom manage a 'National Collection' whilst others grow and look after plants as 'Plant Guardians', or some simply exchange species via the charity's 'Plant Exchange' scheme.  All of these roles are vital to the preservation of the diversity of garden plants.  Additionally, through the charity's 'Threatened Plants Programme' they identify plants at the highest risk of extinction, with the ambition that these can be saved. Anyone can come become a'Plant Guardian - if you don't have a garden, a windowsill will do! To find out more about the charity's work, or to register as a volunteer visit their website.
