Community Wood Recycling

Our Community Wood Recycling impact report 2022-23

We are thrilled to announce that Community Wood Recycling (CWR) have released Shanly Homes' impact report for 2022-23. Our partnership with CWR allows us to dispose of wood waste in a sustainable, efficient way while creating jobs for disadvantaged people.

Over the last year, the partnership has resulted in 123 tonnes of wood rescued from the waste steam, with 62 tonnes of C02 being saved. Furthermore, 1.3 paid jobs have been created and 2.2 people have been trained. CWR provides a wide range of disadvantaged people - including those recovering from substance abuse or from mental health issues, people with learning difficulties and ex-offenders - with a way to build their confidence and self-esteem. They are able to learn new skills, helping them to overcome barriers to finding employment.

We are very proud of the impact our partnership with CWR has had this year and we look forward to continuing to support their remarkable work.
