Construction Director

(Beaconsfield)

As Construction Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction operations across Shanly Homes and driving our commitment to quality and customer focus.

We are a privately-owned, award-winning regional housebuilder developing bespoke, high-end properties in and around the home counties from Surrey to Buckinghamshire.

This role reports directly to the regional Managing Director, working from our Beaconsfield office when not visiting our projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide clear leadership and direction to the construction team, overseeing the planning, scheduling and execution of all projects.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks and opportunities, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure target dates are achieved.
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations and protocols are adhered to at all times.
  • Collaborate with all department across the region to ensure construction considerations are incorporated into decision-making processes.
  • Ensure that high-quality standards are followed by all teams with robust quality control measures and systems in place for adherence to specifications, regulations and customer expectations.
  • Drive excellence and improvement in our practices through regular audits and inspections.
  • Keep up to date with industry changes from a regulatory perspective as well as trends and latest developments.
  • Engage with teams to ensure that any regulatory changes or developments are planned for, implemented and reviewed.

About you

We're looking for a Construction Director with:

  • Proven experience working at a Director level within the house building industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple project teams.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of existing and emerging legislation across the housebuilding sector.
  • Experience of effectively leading, developing and motivating a team.
  • Adept at recognising problems and effectively resolving them.
  • Strong team player across all teams and divisions.
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels and with all parties.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle with willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
