Putting pedal to the metal for our annual go-karting challenge

We put pedal to the metal last night at Absolutely Karting, Maidenhead for our annual go-karting challenge.

Following an important safety briefing given by the marshals, all 8 teams were raring to go fully equipped with suit, gloves and helmets. The first drivers of each team made their way to the pit lane. Sat in their karts they looked left and right eyeing up their opponents. Visors were down and eyes were front and centre at the 3 lights indicating the race was about to start, each turned red in turn and then green…and they were off! Engines were roaring, tyres were screeching and supporters were cheering.

Shortly after we had some yummy pizzas delivered but our only appetite was for winning. Our visors were down once again and we hit the tarmac hard all hoping for victory.

It was a nail-biting second half of racing and competition was rife. As the racing drew to a close the screens showing our scores was turned off, much to the disappointment of the spectators who continued to cheer on the last drivers round the track. As the racing ended, the question on everyone's lips now was…who would be the winning team?

We all gathered in the briefing room and the scores were revealed, the top three teams were announced and trophies were awarded. A fantastic evening was had by all with lots of fun, laughter and LOTS of competition. Roll on next year where the battle will continue.

Many thanks to Absolutely Karting in Maidenhead for a fantastic evening.
